(Chicago.CityRegions.Com, November 09, 2015 ) Chicago, IL -- Aside from carrying — literally — the responsibility of holding the baby, there is apparently more to baby carriers than meets the eye. Funki Flamingo recently launched a Premium baby carrier that supposedly focuses on strengthening the connection between the parent and the baby, among other brilliant features.
What exactly is meant by this bold claim?
First of all, the traditional baby carrier design is bulky, buckled, and bumpy; the wearer is not given enough maneuverability so parents cannot perform other tasks while carrying their baby. This means that if they needed to, say, wash the dishes or mow the lawn, they would need to put their baby down.
However, science has proven that parents should want to be able to hold their baby for as frequent and uninterrupted as they can, because physical contact is vital to babies' development. In his famous book, Growing Young (1981), renowned British-American anthropologist Ashley Montagu talked about how important it is for babies to stay physically connected to their mothers, especially during the first nine months after birth. According to him, nature has intended that infants be held against their mother's bodies until their brain has at least doubled in size. This is a critical developmental stage known as "exterogestation".
Jas Darar and his wife Angela, owners of Funki Flamingo, created their own Premium Baby Carrier that addresses the need for more constant parent-baby bond. "Every minute spent holding a baby is precious," Angela said. "Being a mother myself, I know there are other things that need attending to. But I wouldn't want my baby to spend a lot of time alone in bassinets, strollers and cribs, deprived of physical human contact while I do my chores."
Funki Flamingo's Premium Baby Carrier is made of 95% cotton which accounts for its breathability, and 5% spandex for added strength and flexibility. This Baby Wrap was ergonomically designed to allow parents to use their hands to do extra work so they would not need to be away from their baby. According to Jas, the most crucial part of producing their own baby carrier was making sure it's totally dependable in terms of safety and durability. "Parents need to know for sure that they can entrust their child to our product before they can use it hands-free," he said. "Using premium materials and maintaining quality manufacturing are the foundations of our promise to give parents the opportunity to stay close to their babies while being productive at the same time."
About Funki Flamingo US
Founded in 2015, Funki Flamingo has its roots much further back in time. The business is run by husband and wife team Jas and Angela Darar and whilst running their first business, they have been struck by just how many businesses currently operate that offer poor standard of product and have a non existent approach to customer service. Being parents to 2 young daughters, Jas and Angela remain passionate parents and always remember back to the first Baby Carrier they had and how impractical it was. Determined to do something about this, Funki Flamingo was launched.
